Next, we analyze your property’s unique features - its strengths, opportunities, and constraints. Using advanced tools like LiDAR mapping and drone imagery, combined with photos and comments from you, we’ll provide a clear picture of your land’s challenges and potential to help us make informed decisions.
3. Design to Match
Your Vision
Week: 5-8
With your vision, values and resources in hand, we’ll create a tailored design that integrates every element of your homestead now and in the future. From livestock, food forests and gardens to infrastructure, roads, access trails and more we ensure your plan is functional, efficient, and aligned with your goals.
4. Implementation
(on-going mentorship)
Your Concept Design is just the beginning. We include 3 hours of mentorship after the design is complete. As you start building your homestead, our mentorship services are available to guide you through key decisions, troubleshoot challenges, and help you navigate challenges as they arise.

What Is a Concept Design?
A Concept Design is a personalized, high-level vision that integrates your goals, values, and the potential of your land into a cohesive and actionable plan. Our focus is on arranging and integrating key homestead elements to answer essential questions:
- What homestead elements do you need to fulfill your vision?
- Where should they go to maximize functionality and efficiency?
- Why does each element belong in that specific location?
Our Concept Design service helps you envision what your homestead property can become at its fullest expression. From completed buildings and mature trees to abundant gardens and thriving livestock management, the design reflects the ultimate potential of your land. While things will evolve over time, this Concept Design serves as the foundation for your journey. We pair this phase with future mentorship to guide you through the ongoing, iterative process of bringing your vision to life.
What Concept Design Is NOT:
While the Concept Design provides a high-level vision, it’s important to clarify what it does not include:
- Detailed Construction Plans: We do not provide blueprints, building permits, or precise measurements for structures or systems. However, additional services for Construction Detail Drawings, Planting Plans, and more can be arranged after the Concept Design.
- Plant Species or Material Specifications: Specific recommendations for plant species, building materials, or exact construction details are outside the scope of this service but can be addressed later through mentorship.
- Compliance and Local Regulations: Ensuring compliance with zoning regulations or building codes is the client’s responsibility. We provide guidance, but adjustments for local bureaucratic requirements are not included.
- On-Site Visits: Our team can effectively design a property anywhere in the world, remotely. Site visits are not standard but can be arranged if necessary. Travel costs and mentorship pricing apply, and we aim to schedule visits at the most impactful time to maximize our value.
This clarity ensures we deliver a high-level, actionable plan while leaving detailed implementation, compliance, and site-specific adjustments for follow-up services or mentorship.
